Product Manager - McKinsey Digital

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be based in our Amsterdam office as part of the McKinsey Digital team in Europe.

McKinsey Digital brings together the best of McKinsey’s digital capabilities to help our clients use digital technology to transform their businesses. As part of this group, you’ll join a global team working on everything from IT modernization and strategy to agile, cloud, cybersecurity and digital transformation. WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will lead the execution of digital product development and transformation projects for leading industry players in Europe.

In this role, you will be a core member of the McKinsey consulting team with responsibilities that range from shaping product vision and strategic designs to managing and transforming agile product and leadership teams. You will engage in some of the most challenging business problems our clients are facing. These projects can range from rapid process re-inventions at leading financial institutions, ‘big data’ analytics at large scale retail organizations, to consumer-facing app development for traditional industries. In each situation, you will typically be at the center of problem solving, advising clients on how to successfully execute on their strategic vision with digital means.

You will be well versed in all aspects of the product, process and technology. You will be at the intersection of business strategy, client and implementation vendors and you'll be responsible for translating abstract visions into reality while managing client expectations as well as vendor efficiency. You will also be proficient in all aspects of the agile deliverables required for a technology team to build beautiful products. This includes hands-on development of wireframes, user stories, prioritization, product KPIs, monitoring/tracking and go-to-market strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• University degree in computer science, business, information technology or other technical disciplines
• 4+ years of experience leading product efforts as a product owner and/or product manager in an agile environment
• Strong product acumen to build an outstanding product vision and a product roadmap to achieve it
• Deep knowledge of state-of-the-art product management tools and frameworks (creating wireframes, writing user stories and developing acceptance criteria with the team, refining product backlogs)
• Knowledge and understanding of best practices in technical product development (test-driven development, continuous integration)
• Strong drive to relentlessly prioritize and align with team members, business and IT stakeholders to ensure the highest value capture
• Proficiency in approaches to user research
• Excellent analytical skills to constantly analyze customer feedback and data
• Understanding of a modern product organization structure; ability to train and develop team members into product roles; strong coaching mindset
• Excellent communication skills to engage with both senior business and IT executives as well as designers and software engineers
• Business level fluency in English; fluency in Dutch is a plus
• Willing to travel especially across Europe
