Your Role:

Ekattera global Internal Control & Policies team is looking for an Internal Control Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to join world’s leading tea company. You will be responsible to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in operations, detecting and eliminating fraud, accuracy, and reliability of internal and external reporting of information, as well as ensuring compliance with all for ekaterra relevant financial, regulatory and operational requirements.

  • Want to support Finance, Operations and corporate departments in managing their risks and controls within an international setting?

This position will require you to have a strong big picture focus, without losing sight of the details to ensure you fully understand the challenges, risks and processes to assist in developing the internal control framework.

Your Key Tasks:

  • Completion of the design, implementation, documentation, assessment and monitoring of the internal control framework, including group policies and key risks in order to ensure that the ekaterra has adequate controls to prevent unintentional and intentional errors in financial reporting, processes and business operations
  • Investigate existing business processes and create process maps (where applicable)
  • Ensure key controls are appropriately designed (effective and efficient) and incorporated in the business processes (to monitor compliance)
  • Responsible for the company templates of policies, procedures, work instructions / Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), flow charts and documentation of the key controls (including evidencing)
  • Develop and conduct adequate training and prepare related information material on the internal control objectives, approach, and methodology to business partners on a regular basis to build knowledge and understanding of risks and control.
  • Periodic test assessment of the efficiencies of the controls, creation of the remediation plans and action points
  • Advise the business how to capture/store relevant evidence of performing the controls within the processes
  • Assists in preparation of recommendations for implementation of new or revised policies, procedures, and/or process changes/improvements

Stakeholder Management and key interfaces:

  • Global and local finance teams
  • Finance teams (eg. Tax, treasury, consolidation, reporting etc).
  • Global and local HR, payroll and pension teams
  • Operation and Supply Chain teams
  • Plantations, T2 and Pukka teams
  • Global and local marketing, invovatio and R&D team
  • IT and Legal & Compliance team
  • External 3rd parties

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven 5-7 years’ experience in Internal Control, Auditing, Risk Management Consulting of SOX/JSOX compliance at a corporation with multiple entities or Big 4 firms
  • Solid understanding and experience with internal control frameworks
  • Strong experience and interest for how technology and systems can support internal control effectiveness and efficiency
  • You are familiar with operational and financial procedure.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to spot on, assess and address risk(s)
  • Proven track record of stakeholder management
  • Computer literate – excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, Word)
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English
