The Team

Bloomberg runs on data. As a team we’re responsible for the strategic identification, collection and aggregation of data on the technology, financial activity and economic drivers across clean energy sectors such as Wind, Solar, Bioenergy, Geothermal and Energy Efficiency.

You will be responsible for using your analytical and technical skillset to drive high quality, timely and comprehensive datasets that inspire news and analysis empowering our clients to make better informed decisions.

You will be exposed to existing and emerging technologies within the renewable energy sectors as well as adjacent sectors. You will gain a solid understanding of the project and financing level data of renewable energy projects to gain both an in-depth and high level overview of a specific sector. As your experience grows, you will be expected to have greater influence on Bloomberg's coverage of the energy market, whether that is through technical or market expertise, project management or leadership.

We will trust you to:

  • Maintain and deliver information for the Bloomberg Professional Service with the ongoing goal of improving the accuracy, completeness and coverage of our data-sets
  • Deliver accurate, high quality analysis on process and systems whilst applying your problem solving skills to identify innovative solutions
  • Work with a range of proprietary, industry standard, and open source data stores to assemble, organize and analyse data
  • Develop research ideas, prototypes and proofs of concepts both in collaboration with other data analysts/engineers and as individually lead projects
  • Liaise with the Bloomberg Sales, News, Engineering and Product development teams to contribute to the future development and strategic direction of the product
  • Continually expand upon your existing technical knowledge in addition to new technologies and tools through our training programs and available resources
  • Take ownership and be proactive with key areas of responsibility

We need you to have:

  • Strong interest in data management, technology and the energy markets
  • Bachelor's degree (Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering or other relevant discipline)
  • The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and deliver to deadlines
  • Innovative problem solving skills and strategic/analytical thinking
  • Experience improving workflow processes, and implementing workflow efficiencies
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and managing projects
  • Demonstrable skills and proficiency in SQL or VBA
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

It would be great if you had:

  • Knowledge of Python, XML, JSON (JavaScript), Tableau or Qlik
  • Work experience in Data Analysis or Data Management
  • Extraction, Data Management, Data Visualization, Data Modelling, Data Science, Business Analysis, Programming, Project Management
