ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help expand our team of dedicated teachers providing behaviourally based instruction (Applied Behaviour Analysis) to pupils’ with autism spectrum disorder aged between 4 and 19 years old.

This is a unique opportunity to learn how to design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to encourage learning progression and social development as well as achieve ABA qualifications and CABAS® teaching status.

We will provide full comprehensive training alongside a clear career pathway in special educational needs teaching within a supportive and professional environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training and Development:

  • Develop knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and associated disabilities
  • Participate in training to achieve required CABAS®
  • Progress through practical and theoretical training to ensure satisfactory understanding and practice of the teaching duties

Teaching:

  • Providing behaviourally based instruction (ABA) to pupils
  • Collecting and recording data on the programmes delivered
  • Meeting pupils’ needs through effective personal support, planning and review
  • Interacting and participating with the pupils in the development of skills to reach their potential for independence
  • Provide personal care (toileting, feeding) for pupils
  • Participate and help with extra-curricular activities and off-site activities during the school day

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:

  • GCSE A to C or Level 4 or above in Maths and English
  • Interest in the issue of special Educational Needs/Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Ability to keep accurate records and reports to produce accurate graph data
  • Commitment and motivation to work with children and young people
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
  • An understanding and personal commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Desirable:

  • Experience in working with children with special needs would be advantageous but not essential

WORKING HOURS:

Working hours are 34.75 hours per week from Monday to Friday, four days a week from 9am to 4.30pm and one day a week from 9am to 5.30pm.

REMUNERATION:

  • Starting salary is £15,972 per annum plus extensive CPD package (funded by the School) and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • 44 days annual leave per annum plus 8 statutory bank holidays. The School operates across three terms.
