Which team will you become part of?

As an Internal events & communication intern you’ll be part of the Organizational Development & Facilities team. The team functions as a key figure in the organization, working closely together with HR and IT in consistently looking for ways to improve the business. You’ll be working closely together with Lightyear’s Employee Happiness as well as the Facilities Manager, but will probably interact with loads more!

Your personal mission

As our Internal Communication & Events intern you will focus on organizing the best internal events to keep our employees connected and support the internal communication team by writing content for e.g. the monthly internal newsletter. With the current measures in place, your focus will be mainly working on creating online content and organizing digital events. Lightyear culture is key, so in order to facilitate our growth, preserving this culture is very important.

This is the perfect internship when...

  • You want to improve the Lightyear culture by organizing our internal events, for example digital Friday afternoon drinks, vitality related events, both company-wide as well as team based events.
  • You have a passion for connecting people by creating original communication concepts.
  • You are passionate about community building and engagement.
  • You would describe yourself as someone who likes to plan, arrange, and organise things.
  • You are a strong communicator with both strong social as well as copywriting skills.
  • You like creating concepts from the ground up, as well as are able to implement them.
  • You are proactive, and are able to handle working in a fast changing environment where you have to adapt quickly.

Requirements in order to achieve your personal mission

In order to achieve your personal mission some skills are required as ‘need to have’ and some would be considered as nice to haves! Anyway, long story short, it would be perfect if you can relate to the bullets below;

  • Bachelor in Event management, Leisure studies, Marketing, and Events, Communication or something related to these
  • Apprentice or graduation internship
  • Nice to have: experience with Adobe programs

What you bring along as a talented intern

As an intern you are constantly looking for ways to improve the Lightyear team ‘vibe’. For example you will be working on creating a concept for team events and will be responsible for planning and organizing a new, cool event. Next to that you can think of making sure teams can informally meet each other in an exciting (online) environment. You are also responsible for creating ideas to make sure the office has enough spots to relax and meet each other. In addition, you support the internal communication team in making sure the Lightyear employees can find their way and each other online/offline. What you should bring along in order to do this, is the following:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Creativity
  • Organisational skills
  • Copywriting experience
  • Concept creation

What do we offer

In addition to a challenging internship you also have the opportunity to work for a company with a real, honest and ambitious mission. In this way you have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the future of mobility! In addition, we also offer:

  • A high degree of freedom and independence during your internship
  • Small compensation during your internship
  • A multidisciplinary team of highly motivated and talented people you can learn from
  • In addition to a dynamic working environment, there is time for relaxation during our already epic Friday afternoon drinks!

Who is Lightyear?

Lightyear is an innovative and progressive scale-up with one mission: clean mobility for everyone, everywhere.

Lightyear originates from the legacy as a multiple world championship of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenger® Cruiser Class. Officially established in 2016 by 5 visionaries with the dream to make this groundbreaking technology accessible to everyone, everywhere. In order to accelerate the transition towards a truly sustainable solution for mobility, we believe that it is necessary to completely rethink automotive design by starting from scratch, not limited by industry conventions.

At Lightyear, we all strive for the same goal. We have a team with diverse skill sets and backgrounds; all working tirelessly towards clean mobility for everyone, everywhere. We’re proud of our culture and live up to our core values: think independently, be bold, deliver the change, put people first and take responsibility. Our shared vision is what unites and drives us.

At Lightyear we are building an electric car that charges itself. From our experience at Solar Team Eindhoven, we know this is only possible starting from scratch. At Lightyear we bring together a multidisciplinary team of highly motivated engineers, designers, and visionaries to challenge the status quo. Write the story with us!
