Data engineer

Unilever is digitally transforming to increase our ability to develop cutting-edge analytics and as a result deliver top-line growth. Our mission is to create a digital-first culture, evangelize data-driven decision-making and leap ahead of our competitors in everything that we do.

Our Data & Analytics function will lead the way for Unilever to becoming ‘data intelligent’. We will consistently aim to generate incremental sales and profit by delivering Data & Analytics solutions that meet the needs of our consumers, customers, and employees. In doing so, we will be working closely with both local and regional stakeholders to ensure that local business needs are met while global scale is being leveraged.

There are five major themes to the Data & Analytics strategy:

Driving Unilever to assisted and predictive decision-making. The future is about assisted decision-making via machines (AI, Cognitive Computing, Machine Learning) unlocking insights from a vast amount of consumer, customer and internal data and presenting these in a way that is simple and actionable for our business teams. Delivering intelligent systems at scale. Powering all parts of our business through Data & Analytics tooling. Building the right applications and delivering the right insights to enable our business teams to move faster, be more accurate and make more forward-looking decisions. Making data a true asset. Improve access to high quality data, business intelligence and data science for every part of Unilever and training our organization to find, interpret and use Data & Analytics to create value. Providing world-class Information. One version of the facts. Continued excellence in the provision of information, development of diagnostics and delivery of insights to focus attention when and where it matters. Winning disproportionately in Middle Europe. We believe that the best way to move the needle for Unilever via Data & Analytics is to deliver initiatives that make a significant impact on our business results and that drive our competitive advantage in Middle Europe.

The Data & Analytics Middle Europe team is a brand-new team that will lead the Data & Analytics journey for DACH, Nordics, Italy, and the Benelux (Middle Europe). The team consists of a group of data professionals whose purpose it is to set up a cloud-based data infrastructure, answer core business questions via cutting-edge dashboards, tackle complex challenges with advanced analytics and digitally transform the wider organization.
