Job Purpose

The logistics team plays a critical role in bringing Unilever’s products to the consumers. Unilever spends more than 775m euro per year on logistics in Europe. The team is responsible to organize the best possible transport from over 50 factories to almost 90 warehouses and to more than 30.000 customer locations, shipping close to 9 million pallets a year. On top of this, the team needs to ensure we have the right warehouse capacity to meet the needs of our customers and help Unilever become the Nr.1 supplier.

Your job purpose is to lead value driven sustainable performance in Logistics Benelux, through analytical insights and effective controls.

What will your main responsibilities be?

  • Business partnering the logistics team based in Benelux (75m spend).
  • Managing the in-year and long-term total logistics performance with the logistics leadership team.
  • Managing all month-end processes, especially the ones that have not been centralized in Supply Chain Finance Services.
  • Providing support in strategic initiatives in the Benelux by driving analyses and supporting in business cases.
  • Working with the Finance Excellence Team and FP&A team to generate insights that help to drive actions (through forecast, actuals analysis, business plan, ad hoc analysis).
  • Playing an active role in creating a control mindset within logistics and ensuring logistics controls are executed on time in full.
  • Managing the in-year and mid-/long-term performance related to SC Indirects.

  • A good level of English as a foreign language. Dutch language skills are advantageous to communicate with the local teams.
  • A natural passion for operations design and business results
  • Critical view and dares to speak out.
  • Control mindset.
  • Precise and able to work with data.
  • Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Basic SAP

Preferred Experience

  • 2 years experience in operational and business partnering roles preferably in SC environment.

  • Managing a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to deal and manage connections with virtual team.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain processes.

  • MCO Logistics team: Logistics manager Benelux, MCO logistics team, Ultra logistics team in Katowice.
  • Finance team: Logistics finance manager, Central logistics FET, Ultra finance team, Supply Chain Finance Services, EU SC FET, MCO FET, MCO CCBT Finance Business Partners.
  • Other Supply Chain interactions: VP SC Middle Europe, Customer service, Planning.

Development Opportunity:

This role will give a unique opportunity to gain a deep insight into the Go To Market model of Unilever Benelux and the Unilever Supply Chain company. It is a true end to end finance role where you will gain experience in many different core finance skills. You will have exposure to Unilever Benelux and Europe Supply Chain.
