The role: HR Operations Specialist

As our HR Operations Specialist, you’ll be mainly responsible for the planning and performing of the day-to-day HR tasks within MessageBird.

With your administrative contribution in various HR systems, you’ll make it possible for the HR team to employ fellow colleagues (or ‘Birds’ as we like to call them) across the globe. Your love for working with people, data and your experience with (international) employment legislation, combined with your amazing social skills make you the perfect addition to MessageBird.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate and perform day-to-day HR tasks relating to the whole employee lifecycle
  • Responsible for supporting the business with administrative requirements for onboarding, contracting and talent management
  • Ensure we satisfy local and international employment standards and legislative HR requirements
  • Keeping yourself informed about local employment legislation changes and updating the team accordingly
  • Work with the People team to manage and improve HR Operations workflows that support the team and the wider business
  • Make recommendations to improve the HR tech stack to automate processes, implement web-based self-service features and minimize administrative overhead
  • Ensure integrity of HR data
  • Participate in HR projects as assigned

What you’ll bring

  • 2 years working experience in HR Operations, preferably in a fast-growing company
  • Solid working knowledge of Dutch employment law
  • Proven experience of supporting or owning the administrative requirements for onboarding, contracting and talent management
  • A well organised, structured and analytical approach to HR Operations
  • Able to follow procedures, while also able to be flexible and think outside-the-box
  • A strong sense of accountability and desire to execute quickly and accurately; your prioritisation skills will be second-to-none
  • A natural ability to form working relationships with people at all levels
  • Professional communication skills in English are required for this role
  • Knowledge of and experience with employment law from other countries is a big plus
