We are looking for a strong negotiator to call our new Purchasing & Procurement Manager. In this role you’ll be responsible for planning, organizing and managing supplier sourcing and contracting initiatives. You will be responsible to ensure the organization’s requirements are being met timely and cost-effectively. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure close alignment to Category strategies. As Purchasing & Procurement Manager you will develop, execute and manage purchasing strategies that leverage Wolters Kluwer’s aggregate purchasing power to achieve optimal cost while meeting the requirements of the business in a timely manner. You will operate at both a strategic and tactical level.

Related responsibilities include negotiation, contract management, facilitating performance reviews on suppliers, coordination of dispute resolution, third party management guidance and assistance. The role will blend between procurement and strategic sourcing organization and transition to specific category management role as the next career move.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage key supplier relationships and be the central contact point on commercial issues with the supplier;
  • Perform vendor negotiation on key terms and pricing;
  • Work with contract administration to track obligations and performance of select key suppliers managed;
  • Anticipate and flag risk and concerns related to key vendors;
  • Coordinate and team with the internal business owner and legal counsel to negotiate contracts that meet the legal requirements of Wolters Kluwer and of the business owner;
  • Anticipate and communicate potential issues with complex purchases with high-cost impact and work towards appropriate solutions;
  • Establish and maintain cross-functional relationships; influence change with diplomacy; independently lead the decision-making process among senior leadership on Procurement initiatives.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business, Information Technology, Legal, Supply Chain Management (Procurement) or related field;
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in sourcing, negotiation and relationship management;
  • Experience in the field of Professional Services/Consulting/IT contracting is preferred;
  • Superb supplier relationship management skills to interface with suppliers
  • Ability to work independently with cross functional teams and manage multiple projects at ones;
  • Ability to balance work across multiple projects and able to self-regulate time based on criticality and importance;
  • Strong knowledge in developing negotiation approaches, support and finalizing of contracts;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
