Your assignment

As Intern Global Category Team Packaging you will be joining one of the most strategic sourcing categories at HEINEKEN. The team is dedicated to secure uninterrupted supply of packaging materials like glass bottles, cans, paper and plastic packaging at the best overall value for HEINEKEN, meeting delivery requirements and in compliance with Heineken quality standards. The category operates globally, represents a value of more than €4 Billion and is the biggest spend category in the company. As such, you will have significant internal exposure. The categories are leading an ambitious number of projects that are of huge importance for the organization. You will be supporting the team in executing these projects and delivering category strategies.

In this role you will:

  1. Support the implementation of the sustainability strategy for packaging materials in various regions
  2. Assist the buyers in strategic sourcing activities to secure HEINEKEN packaging supply

Your working environment

You will report to one of the Global Category Leaders – Packaging. Your job will be partly home based and partly at the HEINEKEN Schiphol office when possible. The team consists of a very ambitious, diverse, international group of sourcing professionals.

Your profile

For this role we are looking for someone with the below qualifications:

  • University education in business, financial, logistics, commercial, economical, sustainability or procurement discipline;
  • Strong interest in procurement, sustainability and/or supply chain;
  • Language: Fluent English language required (verbally & written);
  • Functional Competencies: Analysis & Insight, Sourcing, Supplier Management;
  • A first experience as a procurement/ commercial/ sustainability intern would be a significant plus.

Also the ideal candidate has:

  • A result-driven and proactive mentality;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Strategic thinking capabilities;
  • Good communication skills - ability to explain complex topics in a clear and simple manner.

Through this internship, you will support strategic projects on sustainability and sourcing. Therefore, we are looking for candidates eager to learn by going and willing to build a concrete procurement experience.
