Internal Communications Specialist - McKinsey Sustainability
You will be based in one of our offices in North America or Europe as part of McKinsey Sustainability. You will be responsible for creating and driving communications in support of the firm’s vision and strategic priorities for a fast-growing client service area.
McKinsey Sustainability aims to be the preeminent impact partner and advisor for our clients on sustainability, climate, energy transition, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG). Our goal is to help all industry sectors transform to get to net zero by 2050 and to cut carbon emissions by half by 2030. We are working with clients to lead a wave of innovation and economic growth that safeguards our planet and advances sustainability.
You will work with our global communications director as well as McKinsey Sustainability leaders and management team members to serve as an advisor to internal clients looking to engage colleagues around our growth initiatives and own the creative execution of your ideas.
You will be responsible for developing proactive and reactive internal communications strategies and materials to engage firm colleagues on McKinsey Sustainability initiatives.
You will be responsible for increasing engagement/connectivity and for helping tell McKinsey Sustainability’s story internally –both from a people perspective as well as the impact colleagues are helping create around the world. In addition, you’ll take complex subject matter and distill this information into digestible content appropriate for various audiences inside the firm.
You will develop, refine and execute against an internal communications plan for McKinsey Sustainability globally. You will collaborate with subject matter experts and leaders to develop high quality deliverables including, but not limited to, impact stories, talking points, internal events, partner messages, newsletters and more. You’ll also adapt relevant internal deliverables for external audiences as relevant.
Furthermore, you will provide communications advice and support to firm leaders on initiatives to support their internal communications plans. You will develop a deep understanding of internal audiences and build a strong network across the firm to facilitate best practice sharing and greater cross-cell consistency. Finally, you will team with colleagues across the firm to create a wide variety of engaging content (articles, emails, videos, infographics).
