You are responsible for setting up and attending public appearances occasionally, handle PR and keeping the public updated on vital company information. You are an effective writer in addition to being eloquent speaker. As our PR & communication specialist you are well versed on the proper ways to address the media.

You know how to strengthen engagement and commitment among vidaXL employees with the power of internal communication. Ensuring that the vidaXL tone of voice is used consistently inside and outside of the organisation. We’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking and experienced communications professional who will operate in energetic and hectic office environments.

What you will do

  • Develop our overall communications strategy and voice of the company, including speaking engagements, media interviews, media relations, public relations, crisis communications and internal communications
  • Develop our corporate narrative and messaging pillars – and activate this throughout our communications programs
  • Expand and maintain excellent relationships with journalists
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to deliver on our communications strategy
  • Be a problem solver for day to day communications needs
  • Plan, coordinate, distribute and monitor press releases and be the main contact
  • Write, edit, and proofread PR and corporate content. Coordinate with other content contributors to ensure consistency in style, tone, and quality
  • Work closely with internal departments to create content that drives engagement
  • Manage internal communication channels, ensure they are updated regularly with a steady flow of engaging and motivating content
  • Consider governance and measurement tools (dashboards, surveys etc) and facilitate creation and implementation of relevant tools and practices

Must haves

  • 3+ years of experience in PR & communication
  • Native Dutch, fluent in English and exceptional writing skills are a must
  • Excellent communication skills, both in verbal presentations and written materials like press releases. Effective writer in addition to being eloquent speaker
  • Excellent networking skills, to establish relationships with customers and the public
  • Well versed on the proper ways to address the media
  • Internationally oriented
  • Existing network with relevant press connections and journalists
  • Enthusiasm, genuine, able to bring a message in a tone and language that will be easily understood by broad audiences
  • Flexible mindset, pragmatic attitude, decisive and stress resistant
  • Self-starter; personally motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, global, virtual work environment
  • Highly organized, thorough and detail-oriented
  • Working up to 40 hours a week while being on call is common practice in this function
  • Assertiveness, authority and the skills to adapt terminology suited to the recipient
  • Able to provide critical feedback and handle sensitive issues when needed
