Are you studying law or did you just finish your studies? Well, this might be interesting for you then! We are currently looking for a student assistant for our Publishing Department.

An integral part of the Publishing department, IBFD Rights & Permissions, is responsible for maintaining IBFD’s policies on reproduction and contract management and handling all inquiries related to author rights and reuse of IBFD content. We are looking for a Rights Assistant to provide much-needed support on a part-time basis (16 hours a week).

Main responsibilities

You will support the Contracts & Rights Manager by carrying out various operational and administrative tasks, such as:

  • Processing requests for reproduction or translation;
  • Handling inquiries regarding author contracts and rights;
  • Preparing reproduction licenses and invoices;
  • Performing regular online checks for potential copyright infringements;
  • Keeping a well-organized administration;
  • Handling urgent issues during absence of the Contracts & Rights Manager;


  • Basic to intermediate level knowledge of MS Word and Excel;
  •  Knowledge of (Dutch) author law is an advantage;
  • Some administrative experience, preferably in a publishing environment is an advantage;


  • Fluency in English, both written and oral;
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills;
  • A sharp eye for detail;
  • Ability to prioritize and take initiative;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills;
