HBO/WO Intern Art Auction

Den Haag

Are you the energetic Art Professional that we are looking for? At NN Group we have an art collection of 2000 artworks. This collection was started with glass artworks from big names like Copier, and further developed over the years. In the early years, the goal was to fill the walls as quickly as possible. Therefore artworks were acquired in large batches. Now that the collection has a clear vision and mission, some of these artworks do not fit the collection anymore. It is a waste leaving these works unseen in the art depot. Let’s give these works a new home to be loved and admired! Are you joining our team from August/September 2021 to help us organising the next art auction?

The internship fee for this internship is HBO € 450 / WO € 600 gross based on a 36-hour working week.

Your impact as Intern Art Auction at NN

Over the past few years we have held two auctions, selling some of these works to colleagues. For April 2022 we want to organise the next auction, and we need your help! Together with the Curator of the NN Art Collection you will manage the process. From meeting with the auction house and creating a communications plan, to actually selecting the artworks and registering them.

Your responsibilities

  • Be the contact person for communications colleagues, transportation companies, and the auction house
  • Selecting artworks for the auction, together with the curator of the collection
  • Work with The Museum System, where all the artworks are hosted
  • Registering the selected artworks
  • Pricing the artworks, together with the curator of the collection

Who you are

  • A HBO/WO student in Art Management, or any related subject
  • A strong interest in; corporate art collections, or contemporary and modern art
  • Creative thinker, ambitious and enthusiastic
  • Willing and able to travel to the depot in Arnhem

Your colleagues

The team Corporate Citizenship of NN Group exists of ambitious advisors and specialists in the fields of sustainability, social justice, art and culture, and history. In this team we engage in a broad spectrum of initiatives that positively impact people, environment and society at large.

In the team you work closely together with the Curator and Art advisor of the NN Art Collection. Due to your work in the depot in Arnhem, you will also meet the History Specialist often. Within the department ‘Corporate Relations’ you will work together with internal communications colleagues and also Facility Management colleagues will be in close contact. The colleagues within Corporate Citizenship all have their own expertise and create support and promote their own themes. You can support this by representing the team with enthusiasm when meeting (new) NN colleagues. We also spend time together doing fun activities as a close and fun team.

Continue developing

It is important to us that you continue to develop yourself. We give you the space and the confidence to grow in your career as well as a person. We help you with:

  • Plenty of training and learning opportunities in our Learning & Development Centre
  • A large (international) network of colleagues who are keen to share their knowledge with you
  • The autonomy to set out your own development path
