Job Title: Domestic Carrier Sales Rep

Department: Carrier Sales

Position Type: Full-Time Regular

Pay Basis: Salaried – Once Monthly

Travel: 0-5 days per year

Hours of Work: 40 hrs / week

Reports to: Manager, Operations

How You’ll have an Impact:

You will be responsible for the acquisition and development of the Carrier Network, with a specific focus towards servicing the UK Domestic team. Your goal will be to maintain and develop relationships, increase volume, maximize profitability and maintain requisite service levels.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and manage an individual portfolio of accounts.
  • Determine carrier ability, willingness and availability to move freight.
  • Prioritize and communicate internally and externally in an effective and professional manner using the appropriate method of communication.
  • Proactively develop new capacity for new & existing lanes within the UK market with a focus on building mutually beneficial long-term partnerships.
  • Champion the push to have our UK domestic network setup on automation tools such as GPS tracking, Coyote.com, Quick Pay, etc
  • Develop internal relationships with carrier reps / managers and customer sales reps.
  • Maintain high service levels with established network of carriers.
  • Identify and resolve any issues associated with the movement of freight with Coyote’s best interest at heart.
  • Constantly source capacity for additional business through prospecting, referrals and inside sales.
  • Help generate Spot business with Domestic based customers by liaising with Ops Reps and looking for TIH opportunities.
  • Help monitor any spot portals and provide costings according to available capacity.
  • Promote team cohesiveness by communicating openly and offering support when available.

Essential Competencies:

  • Communication – You will be speaking with carrier over the phone, in writing and potentially face to face.
  • Negotiation – You will be tasked with adhering to a market rate when purchasing capacity.
  • Problem Solving – Carrier Reps must be able to critically solve issues as they arise both internally and externally.
  • Organization – Prioritization & time management are key

Language Requirements

  • Ability to speak English fluently

Progression:

Senior Domestic Carrier Rep

Preferred Education & Experience:

Freight Forwarding, Customer service, Dispatch and/or Sales experience
