Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind and Solar PV & Battery activities. Today we develop, construct and operate wind & solar generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our solar PV and battery operations further.

The department Asset Management & Business Excellence within Business Unit Solar & Batteries is now looking for a dedicated Transaction Manager to help manage the large deal flow for Vattenfall’s rapidly growing Solar & Battery business.

Overall purpose of your role

Within the Business Unit (BU), the international Asset management and Business Excellence team is responsible for the successful implementation of all transactions associated with active portfolio management. The team is responsible for both for the successful acquisitions of project portfolios and for the successful implementation of the capital recycling strategy through divestments after commissioning in all countries.

In addition, the department supports development of projects until investment decision by structuring the projects, securing Power-purchase-agreements with off takers and providing the investor ownership assumptions enabling a positive Final Investment Decision (FID).

The position includes the responsibility for a wide range of transactions and contract negotiations in all markets (mostly NL, GER & UK) where the Business Unit is active. In addition, it gives you the opportunity to be a driving force in the creation of the future energy landscape.

The role includes the following responsibilities:

Lead…

  • (together with Vattenfall M&A) divestments of constructed asset portfolios in/across all countries in line with BU Solar & Batteries capital recycling strategy
  • acquisitions (together with Solar Development and Vattenfall M&A ) enabling further growth of the international project portfolio including management of due diligence processes and negotiation of commercial terms and conditions of the transaction
  • set up and valuation of strategic cooperation’s with potential developers/customers/ investors

Develop…

  • and maintain relationships with relevant investors
  • and implement commercial tools (i.e. financial participation by third parties – either corporates such as insurance companies and pension funds, and private participation; crowd funding; etc.)

Provide…

  • support or lead work to secure project PPA’s in markets where applicable (together with BA Markets)
  • cost-of-capital and other financing and ownership assumptions as input for all project business cases
  • conducting market analysis and lead or support strategic initiatives

You will report to Director of Asset Management and Business Excellence within Business Area Wind’s Solar & Batteries Business Unit.

Your Essential Qualifications

  • An academic degree – in either Finance or Engineering or relevant field, further financial qualifications (eg. CFA) are a plus
  • 3+ years of work experience, typically within management consulting, M&A, an institutional investor or a bank/lender
  • Fluent in English both written and oral, German and/or Dutch skills are advantageous
  • Experience from leading multi-interface projects in an international environment
  • A strong affinity for the solar industry or renewable energy sector

You bring the following key competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function well in a team environment
  • Experience in negotiations and well developed negotiation skills are an advantage
  • Willingness to help out others and being flexible to work in a changing environment

Location
