Your role

As Product Controller, your key objective is to continuously support our company in achieving its strategy of sustainable profitable growth. The main role of product control is to support the team responsible for identifying new products to be introduced to our portfolio, and to ensure business cases are completed and value tracking is performed. You will participate in the decision making to select our next products for development, be involved in realizing the value of the products for our customers, and own the life-cycle of the development phase, from business case creation to managing the portfolio of intended investments in new products.

Your responsibilities

As a Product Controller, you will:

  • Drive the financial business planning / forecasting process, assessment of financial performance of the product within the program by reviewing and analyzing actual costs and investments, and provide support in managing financial risks and opportunities. You own the budgeting and controlling process for R&D investments on behalf of the business unit.
  • Act as business partner for the team responsible for identifying new products to be introduced to our portfolio.
  • Own the use of tools within the business case framework and review, and challenge business cases / plans using various data sources.
  • Measure and track the return on the investment itself and the value in use to our customers.
  • Pro-actively initiate and drive actions within the program to optimize results and mitigate risks.
  • Report on progress with R&D once New Products are approved for development.
  • Work with the Pricing team on pricing models, looking at the full E2E process.
  • Close cooperation with Product Controllers in other divisions and with the R&D Controller.

Your department

As a Product Controller, you are part of the BU Controlling Team and will report to the WS Director Controlling. While you are part of the WS controlling team, you will be highly involved in the product teams. In addition, you will contribute to overarching continuous improvement projects. All Controllers in this team are active members of the business team they support and act as business partners and the financial conscience of the teams they partner with.

Your profile

  • Master degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an international company (preferably B2B or project-oriented)
  • Solid understanding of new product introduction in addition to sales, project & service control
  • Advanced Excel and modeling capabilities
  • Ambitious, confident, self-motivated and energetic individual with the highest degree of ethics
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to prioritize appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with personnel throughout the company as well as external vendors and professional services firms
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English, other languages are a plus.
