The Challenge

There is a wealth of data in supply chain, we plan to unlock more and more data and translate those into value-adding insights, for our customers and for our business. The RFM Supply Chain engineer is responsible to support supply chain performance improvements globally and in the regions, by executing relevant tasks and/or leading relevant projects as part of the roll out of the Global SC digital and Continuous improvement agenda and key projects within. This includes consulting and driving tactical and operational improvements in alignment with relevant stakeholders in the global & regional SC team, based on deep-dive analytics and business-specific SC insights using data driven solutions in this. The Supply Chain Data engineer will be based in Waalwijk and will report to the Supply chain improve & MDM manager.

The Position

  • Conducting deep dive SC analytics to identify gaps to close and/or improvements, create the action plans to work on these and facilitate and/or drive the execution of these operationally, within SC relevant themes
  • Designing and developing scalable solutions to complex problems using available tooling (e.g. power apps, Power BI) and applying statistical modeling and (in a later stage) machine learning;
  • Providing global support in  data analytics on target setting, continuously monitoring and improving relevant SC KPI’s in alignment with the  teams globally and/or in the region (eg. lead-times, OTIF, cost)
  • Shape the data driven SCM part of the global (digital) roadmap in close collaboration with the SC Improve manager
  • Ensuring proper share & learn both within the regions and globally cross-region
  • Leading relevant global supply chain improvement projects on targeted KPIs as part of DRF SC strategy

The Ideal

  • Master’s degree or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline: econometrics, computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, management of information systems, engineering, economics, social sciences or equivalent;
  • 0-3 years of experience in a similar position
  • You breath data analytics, and have a strong attention to detail (e.g. Minitab, R, Python).
  • Knowledge and/or experience in predictive modeling, data and qualitative analytics, big data queries and interpretation, machine learning algorithms;
  • Sufficient knowledge of Supply Chain in general (Supply Chain Planning, logistics, strategy)
  • Basic knowledge & experience or interest in project management, operational excellence and continuous improvement practices (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
  • Good understanding in SAP ERP system, knowledge of APO and tools like Every Angle is a nice-to-have.
  • Analytical mindset and basic understanding of machine learning algorithms;
  • You are persistent and let the data speak for you.
  • Good communication skills
  • You are eager to learn and have a wide interest in what is happening around you and are not afraid to start digging and asking
  • Fluent in English; any other language is of advantage.
