In this role, you have the opportunity to participate in projects that improve (digital) operations at (Philips and non-Philips) customers. Your analyses and process improvement efforts will contribute to improved operations for the company. By learning on the job this position offers a huge variety in projects, experience in various industries and a large network. As business analyst at Industry Consulting (part of Philips Innovation Services) you are in charge of your own development supported by training and on the job learning on projects.

You are responsible for

Conducting excellent work by being invited to be staffed on projects at our (Philips and non-Philips) customers. This means contribute and participate in projects by organizing and executing activities:

  • Business analyses, market analyses, operations analyses
  • Support set up and facilitation of workshops
  • Conduct and interpret interviews
  • Assist project leaders in leading large projects or acting as a Program Management Office support
  • Be part of process improvement efforts with people in the business
  • Develop conclusions and generate deliverables such as (parts of) reports and presentations
  • Guard project results (both budget and customer satisfaction)
  • Contribute and participate in projects per agreed Industry Consulting Ways of Working, by learning on the job

Supporting the acquisition at existing customers through current projects and networking:

  • Assist in preparing sales presentations, quotations in collaboration with (senior) consultants
  • Assist in marketing initiatives
  • Actively share information about customers to Industry Consulting
  • Set-up and maintain a network with customers, on your own operational level in the projects
  • Be aware of Industry Consulting's Best Practices and Philips Innovation Services programs, and able to convey these in your daily work
  • Set-up of a project plan & budget in agreement with the Managing Consultant
  • Apply and maintain the knowledge and expertise of Industry Consulting and participate in internal competence development projects and contribute to the process of describing Best Practices and achievements in Industry Consulting.

The department Industry Consulting at Philips Innovation Services is a dynamic group of approximately 75 consultants with a growth ambition. We offer you to work with leading clients in operationalizing their strategic ambitions in key areas of their business: Innovation and Operations Management. You will work with seasoned professionals who provide you with the opportunity to rapidly learn from their expertise and grow in specific areas of Operations Management and Industry 4.0.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • A Master’s degree in a technical, science, business, or related discipline with outstanding-student results, extra-curricular activities are highly appreciated.
  • Initial experience in high-tech environments during your studies
  • Capability to convert data into information
  • Knowledge or exposure to operations management covering various of the following aspects: operations, (digital) manufacturing, data & analytics, supply chain, process improvement, lean manufacturing, financial modeling, etc.
  • An excellent knowledge operations concepts, tools, and methods
  • Experience in successfully working in teams and delivering complex projects to meet demanding targets in time and quality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced capability in Excel and PowerPoint, and preferably in (advanced) data & analytics tools
  • Strong understanding of, and interest in, latest technology trends: Data Science / Data Analytics, IIoT, Connected Platforms, Edge & Cloud Analytics, Digital Twins, Blockchain, Virtual Reality, Robotics
