The role: Senior Product Analyst

We are looking for someone who can educate our product managers and engineers on best practices for instrumentation, metrics, and insights, and encourage a data-driven culture within the organisation to foster accountability and decision making.You will be a key part of the Engineering team, working closely with the wider team to enable the design and implementation of highly available and scalable solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Have a deep understanding of Messagebird’s products and the data they produce and proactively identify opportunities for improving the overall user experience or gaps in the product by conducting exploratory analyses;
  • Design and conduct experiments of product features and analyze the findings in order to make product recommendations based on the outcome;
  • Present your findings and recommendations to company leads and champion the use of data to make product decisions;
  • Collaborate with Data and Analytics Engineers to help define clear, trustworthy, optimized data sources of truth by understanding the business logic and anomalies that using raw data difficult to use for end users.

What you’ll bring

  • 3+ years of professional work experience analyzing product or user behavior, in a product team, preferably at a software or technology company;
  • Proficient in SQL (preferably using a big data syntax such as BigQuery, Presto, or Hive/Spark) and understanding of optimizing query performance;
  • Comfort handling massive datasets and connecting the dots between disparate sources;
  • Strong mindset towards data quality, in all stages of the product and analyses;
  • Understanding how to prevent data quality issues;
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills - able to quickly digest any issue or problem;
  • A drive to improve MessageBird’s products and proactively identifying ways to bring value;
  • Familiarity with experimentation and basic statistical methods;
  • An understanding of best practices for data warehouse concepts and data models,
