Your role in a nutshell
The Body Shop is looking for Product Development Technologist to lead Make-up NPD, by managing R&D aspects of formula delivery with third party vendors.
This opportunity is available as 12 months Fixed Term Contract (maternity cover).
More about the role
Lead all R&D relevant areas of product development (NPD/Operational projects) from the marketing brief to the 1st production batch.
· Brief full- service subcontractors to develop the best formula in terms of quality, performance, innovation, respecting R&I Strategy guidelines and project timings
· Ensure thorough projects follow-up, clear communication with subcontractors and internal NPD team
· Ensure R&D related quality of subcontracting, maintaining accuracy of documentation and R&D processes
· Formula technical compliance and performance evaluation. Preparation of formula development costs and claims evaluation
·Correct risk assessment at every project stage, failures anticipation with back-up formulations planned where relevant
· Ensure all the test results are available on time (stability, challenge, safety, efficacy) for agreed Formula Finalisation date
· Attend 1st factory scale-up batch of developed formulation (unless not possible due to pandemic travel restrictions)
· Work respecting The Body Shop’s Purpose, Ethics and foster Safety culture
