Even more effective quality assurance and a sustainable quality culture. As a Quality Assurance Officer for the TU Delft Extension School, you are at the forefront of this.

Job description

Does the education at the TU Delft Extension School meet our high-quality requirements? How can we improve education processes? And is quality measured correctly? These are the core questions to which you find answers and make policy. You collect data with the help of feedback sessions, surveys, annual reports and audits. Then you analyse and interpret it. Your analyses are the foundation on which your advice to the Quality Assurance and Advisory Board rests. And that forms the basis for creating a sustainable quality culture, in which quality is systematically measured.

You collect all the information you can and you constantly keep a finger on the pulse. Are the learning objectives achieved? And are the learning methods used for a particular course the most effective? It's about qualitative and quantitative data that you zoom in on to understand, and then zoom out of again to determine how we can use it to improve quality. You think at a strategic level, and you get a lot of freedom in this. In doing so, you must be careful not to drown in the data. Data is not a goal, but means with which you set the right course.

In your role as Quality Assurance Officer, you collaborate often and intensively. You are part of the Education Support Team, an international club of seven colleagues who work hard for quality assurance every day and support the Course Team in developing courses. You interact with Faculty Coordinators and lecturers whose courses run within the Extension School. And with the Policy Advisor, with whom you create new policies of which you guarantee the quality. Your position is dynamic and offers you the opportunity to be impactful throughout the University.

Requirements

  • You have a university degree in education or equivalent and experience in quality assurance.
  • You have experience with quality control and ICT tools in education, for example with digital assessments and online learning methods.
  • You can proactively advise and guide professionals, and you have experience with working on a project basis.
  • You are convincing and have the necessary sensitivity; this way you can easily switch between different stakeholders.
  • You can express yourself well orally and in writing in English, and preferably also in Dutch (you are willing to learn Dutch).
  • You are analytical, data-driven, self-reliant and result-oriented, and you can put things in a clear perspective.

Conditions of employment

  • Duration of contract: 1 year with prospect of permanent.
  • Hours per week: 32-40.
  • A salary according to the Collective Labor Agreement of the Dutch Universities, plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
  • An excellent pension scheme via the ABP.
  • The possibility to compile an individual employment package every year.
  • Discount with health insurers.
  • Flexible working week.
  • Every year, 232 leave hours (at 38 hours). You can also sell or buy additional leave hours via the individual choice budget.
  • Plenty of opportunities for education, training and courses.
  • Partially paid parental leave
  • Attention for working healthy and energetically with the Health Coach Program.

Extension School

‘Educate the World and enhance the quality of TU Delft campus and online education’. This is the mission of the TU Delft Extension School. A mission that has been determining in all thinking and acting within our innovation-oriented educational organisation since its foundation in 2014.

We focus on online university further education. Along with external partners and the faculties of TU Delft, we develop and provide courses and short programs for external target groups. Think of international students with a Bachelor's or Master's degree, who want to develop further through online education. And to people who have been in the labour process for a while and want to brush up on their skills. Upon completion, our students receive an officially (accredited) certificate for the educational module(s) they have taken.

The Extension School has recently become an independent organisation within TU Delft. Our management team reports directly to the Executive Board. We work with about thirty colleagues from our own office on the university campus. An international team with expert and passionate employees with more than ten different nationalities. Our culture is therefore very diverse!
