About the team:

You will be joining an established global team of over 30 quantitative developers, analysts and consultants supporting FIS’ market leading financial risk management software. A winner of multiple industry awards, FIS’ Adaptiv solution suite is used by hundreds of financial institutions around the world. The team is charged with building, maintaining and supporting all quantitative aspects of this highly sophisticated solution, and regularly work with world leaders in the field across global financial institutions.

What you will be doing:

As a Quantitative Analyst within the Cross-Asset Trading & Risk quantitative group, you will be working with experts in Development, Analysis, QA and Management, bringing your mathematical and analytical skillset to bear in the domain of financial modelling and risk analytics. You will engage in quantitative analysis, specification, testing and verification for new and existing functionality; regularly engaging with clients at all stages of project and software lifecycles.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Requirements definition and specification of new quantitative functionality
  • Apply analytical and mathematical skills in the analysis and resolution of client issues
  • Build in-depth knowledge of the product and business domains
  • Participate in and ultimately lead client discussions around new and existing functionality
  • Provide testing and process support to the software development lifecycle
  • Provide project management support of quantitative tasks through reporting and liaising with relevant internal and external representatives.
  • Participate in all Agile meetings such as stand-ups, sprint planning, demos and retrospectives

What you bring:

  • Proactive and self-motivated, seeking challenging work
  • Strong quantitative ability in financial modelling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong academic background, minimum 2:1 in a numerate/technical discipline
  • Post-graduate qualification / 3-years professional experience in the industry
  • Keen interest in both technology and finance
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of internal stakeholders including development and product management

Added bonus if you have:

  • Prior experience / familiarity in financial risk and regulations
  • Progress towards financial certification, such as CFA and FRM is a plus
  • Prior experience of service-based solutions in financial industries
  • Prior experience using documentation and tracking tools, such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Prior experience in Agile software development; scrum certified is a plus
  • Familiarity with financial market data vendors, such as Thomson Reuters, S&P, Moodys, MorningStar, etc.
