As Operations & Procurement Supervisor you are the leader of the Operations team and part of a larger, global procurement team. Your role is to lead, motivate and organize the EU Operations team in a proper and personable way, whilst also being hands-on responsible for Procurement, such as controlling stock, product availability, inventory, and order processing for our European facility. You are the main contact person for our vendors locally and some worldwide, you review pricing and you oversee the correct handling of all shipments within the EU.

This is what your day looks like. You:

  • lead: manage and develop 6 people in the operations team from assembly to shipping and customer support. You motivate them and ensure their growth in a personable and coaching manner while ensuring tasks get done effectively.
  • plan: review and do forecasting, stocking, and activity based costing indicator setting and analysis. You communicate with sales to get accurate forecasts of assigned product groups and with Finance for invoicing and payments.
  • execute: place purchase orders and fulfill internal requests daily. You prepare inventory reports and order fulfillment. You review and update forecast. You update cost indicators and sales returns.
  • monitor: material planning in the EU and incoming shipment management. You prepare and review inventory reports.
  • control: support important key account projects, improve key performance indicators (inventory level, days on hand, and slow moving products), and drive global planners to optimize the planning to meet EU targets.
  • others: assist in conducting periodical physical stock count. Learn and improve knowledge to meet changes in company systems and requirements.
  • contact vendors locally and globally to negotiate product prices and ensure timely shipments and delivery.
  • work along our quality standards (i.e. ISO, LEAN methodology) and you continuously look for ways to improve quality in all processes.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Logistics or related field.
  • You speak and write Dutch and English at a full professional level.
  • You have a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in managing a small team, and 3 years of supply chain/procurement experience. An affinity with computer hardware is a plus.
  • You have knowledge of and experience with ERP systems related to procurement, you understand capacity planning and scheduling.
  • You pay attention to detail and exhibit a strong focus on quality (LEAN and ISO experience are a plus). You are organized with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • You manage time well in an environment with shifting priorities.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and you are a team player.
  • You are able to pick up new processes quickly and efficiently, and you hold yourself and others accountable.
