Deliver execution of Operations Excellence & Key Transformations within Logistics and fostering a continues improvement culture and mindset within the Logistics EMEA organization.

You will be part of the Logistic Competence Center (LCC). LCC will deliver dedicated support to the daily logistic operations within EMEA, with strong focus on standardization, simplification & continues improvement, to support the vision to deliver best in class logistic operations, with respect to all related compliancy and regulations.

A Day in the Life

Deliver process optimization, functional improvements and transformations within Logistics EMEA, driving change towards Operational Excellence to fostering a continuous improvement culture.

You are accountable for the development and execution of the OPEX strategy within EMEA Logistics, together with your Operational Excellence team. Next to that you are an inspiring counterpart for the Logistics management team across EMEA, engaging them to accelerate the Operational Excellence journey. Able to engage and coach the entire Logistics organization around the Medtronic Operating System (MOS). You perform successful Black Belt projects, Kaizen, OPEX programs and Cell Operating System (COS) transformations.

By doing this we will improve the quality and services to our customers, employee engagement and reduce costs. Key competences we are looking for:

  • Ability to develop an OPEX strategy, connecting to the Medtronic Common Goals and MOS maturity within EMEA Logistics
  • Effectively lead and coach a team of 2 full-time Black Belts reporting to you
  • Able to take higher management along the MOS journey and make sure they “lead by example”
  • Leading successful Black Belt and Kaizen projects by applying tools; project charter, stakeholder management, budget management, project planning, communication plan and data analyses
  • Drive Policy Deployment across the organization on all Tier levels (Tier 1-4)
  • Lead the Operational Excellence Community, containing 10 MOS experts
  • Providing Lean Sigma training across Customer Care & Supply Chain (CC&SC) of which Logistics is part of
  • Leading Cell Operating System (COS) transformations on the shopfloor to ensure the “Everybody Every Day continuous improvement” principle is applied
  • Leading (cross-functional) Kaizen events & workshops for rapid problem solving
  • Able to communicate effectively in all layers of the organization
  • Gemba focussed, Hands-on and has a “can do” mentality
  • Be an ambassador for the Logistic Competence Center EMEA

Must Haves

  • You obtained a relevant Bachelor or Master degree
  • BlackBelt certified (or in certification process)
  • You are a highly skilled coach and a motivator
  • Enthusiastic
  • Experienced with the use of process optimization methodologies as Lean Sigma, 5S, Kaizen & DMAIC and Project Management
  • At least 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Logistics Operations
  • Strong process improvement leadership skills, ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong ability and character to build relationships within the organization being able to influence and persuade and – if necessary – push back.
  • Comply with the organization's Quality Management System and Quality Objectives and Understanding impact of Quality on Regulatory requirements
  • You like to drive change, are results driven, and passionate to challenge the status quo.
  • Further you are a real team player and a real problem solver.
  • Excellent command of English & Dutch language

Nice to have

  • Experience with SAP and Minitab
