Payaut BV is a fintech start-up, providing verification, reconciliation & payout services to online platforms and marketplaces. Payaut is applying for a financial institution license (PSD2).

Position of the CRCO Profile

The main purpose of this role is to build and manage the overall risk and compliance program and to oversee all risk & compliance related matters for Payaut. The Chief Risk & Compliance Officer will become member of the Management Board and will partner with his/her fellow Management Board members.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Demonstrating ethical leadership and business integrity;
  • Establishing, maintaining and updating standards, policies and procedures;
  • Ensuring management of the risk control framework;
  • Identify, evaluate and monitor risks, in order to avoid, mitigate or reduce risks for Payaut within the risk appetite;
  • Ensuring effective compliance, control and reporting in line with laws and regulations;
  • Responding to regulatory developments, reporting requirements, changes to laws and regulations;
  • Overseeing and challenging employees and teams within Payaut and other entities in the group on compliance and integrity related matters, related to the provision of payment services;
  • Educating employees and create risk and compliance awareness within Payaut;
  • Building effective controls, incident reporting and management;
  • Sharing strategic leadership responsibilities with the CEO & CTO.

Expected time

Part-time (min. 16 – max. 32 hours).

Payaut is still in the start-up phase and has currently limited operations. Payaut expects the candidate to be available for an increase of working hours with the growth of Payaut as a financial institution.

Competencies and requirements

  • Proven experience as Managing Director or other managerial position
  • Strong understanding of legal requirements for a regulated financial institution
  • Balanced decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Sharp critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Personal integrity and a sense of ethics to ensure independence
  • Experience in the payment industry
  • Plus: affinity with Human Resource Management, Legal and/or Finance
