Zurich Insurance is currently looking for an Actuarial Analyst for our Benelux organization. You have ideally some experience with non-life Insurance and you are an analytic, agile and engaging person with a passion and enthusiasm to help drive an organization forward. Key Accountabilities

As an Actuarial Analyst, you:

  • Support the Senior actuary in pricing and portfolio profitability management
  • Help to coordinate, prepare and perform pricing analyses for portfolio, including MGA business
  • Work closely together with relevant functional stakeholders, to continuously monitor and provide insights into underwriting performance and implications for the business
  • Support the balance pricing and reserving views on performance together with the Senior Actuary, to ensure cross functional alignment and challenge where warranted
  • Calculates pricing or rate indications for new/renewal business, and assist in price monitoring, planning, and profitability analyses for defined segments including MGA
  • Tests and maintains pricing models and tools
  • Provides product development and pricing support
  • Supports, maintain and improve the data quality framework in close cooperation with Underwriting team(s), supports or leads data calls.

Other accountabilities are to:

  • Demonstrate increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures to build value-adding, relevant technical knowledge
  • Work with actuarial colleagues in becoming familiar with company operations, business objectives and actuarial methodologies in order to be able to provide analytical support across an increasing breadth of scenarios
  • Actively pursue local actuarial qualification and demonstrate consistent progress towards designation in order to maintain the talent pipeline for Actuarial

For this role occasional travel to our office in Zaventem (Belgium) is necessary. This is easily reachable via public transport.

Requirements/Profile

  • Bachelor’s/ HBO degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or Mathematics/Statistics
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in the actuarial field with some pricing
  • Pursuing actuarial qualification with local actuarial body
  • Dutch and English language spoken and written at a high level
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Basic knowledge of the actuarial pricing concepts and understanding of the actuarial reserving concepts
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and actuarial modelling
  • Basic Knowledge of product development within insurance
  • Proficient with Excel, MS office suite and preferably programming languages such as R, VBA, etc
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good negotiation skills
