In this diverse role you are responsible for the uninterrupted flow of raw material, such as cocoa, nuts and flour, for our 11 European chocolate and confectionary production sites. By analysing and forecasting usage, you will execute mid and long-term purchase planning. You’ll analyse obsolete and potentially obsolete materials, as well as create and implement proactive measures on minimising the impact of shortages. Your deep understanding and insight of the replenishment process ensure that the renewal of materials is on schedule. At the same time, you monitor the perfect balance between controlled expenses and an optimum amount of inventory to prevent waste.

As the world of FMCG is ever changing, you need to be on top of short-term purchase, planning and risk assessment. You’ll conduct daily analysis of changes in production and will assess the risks of potential material delivery disruption and propose solutions on minimizing those risks.

The location for this fulltime position is Veghel, some travel to other European production sites may occur. You’ll be part of a close knit, multi-cultural team of 10 colleagues.

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Being the first point of contact for suppliers and will manage and nurture these relationships. You’ll evaluate and give feedback regarding their performance in terms of quality, service and efficiency. If necessary, you’ll take part in negotiations in conflict situations.
  • Being accountable for every stage of the purchase process and order execution until materials are delivered on site.
  • Receiving, checking and processing all incoming invoices and providing required documents to stakeholders such as customs, legal, R&D or suppliers.
  • Supporting new initiatives and the qualification process of new suppliers and supplier changes.
  • Collaborating with Regional Commercial Operations team and support the development and implementation of regional strategies and projects.

What are we looking for?

The person for this role is a skilled (logistics) communicator. You are able to successfully connect with all layers in the business; from manufacturers to engineers, legal departments, finance and management. You have great analytical abilities, commercial awareness and you are adaptive to change and to develop. Due to the nature of the position, experience in international business etiquette and relations is strongly encouraged.

You compliment these skills with:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, business administration or operations management
  • > 3 years’ experience in logistics in a similar industry, distribution or retail
  • Extensive knowledge on ERP (SAP) systems
  • Being coordinated, action oriented, result driven and independent
  • Fluency in English
