APM Terminals is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our Global Information Technology Portfolio team. This is a remote position.

APM terminals runs migrations to replace legacy TOS systems with Navis SPARCS N4. You will work on multiple projects and lead a cross-functional team to ensure each individual project is successful in terms of budget, schedule, quality and risk.

Under the guidance of a global TOS Implementation Manager you will both follow and help improve a global migration methodology to accomplish both project and program success.

As a TOS-system and operations technology veteran you have both academic and “on the ground” experience with TOS system implementation projects. You are motivated by hard word coupled with stellar results and have strong sense of personal ownership of your projects and their successful outcome.

You are technical with proven experience looking to make a move to a role that is more strategic and will further develop your leadership skills.

Role can be based from the Hague, Netherlands, Copenhagen, Denmark or Maidenhead, UK.

Key responsibilities

  • Work within a defined methodology to guide local terminal stakeholders and resources through an individual project from pre-qualification and scoping through to post operational support prior to handover to an ongoing support service.
  • Manage schedule, budget and risk providing feedback to the local terminal stakeholders and global TOS Implementation Manager making recommendations to adjust or kill the project as appropriate.
  • Interact with operational experts to deliver tested, high quality work that meets agreed requirements
  • Work with vendors to ensure a multi-party team operates in an efficient and cohesive manner to achieve project success
  • Own the baseline metrics for the project in terms of individual project cost,risk, duration and quality and provide specific and objective reporting as well as lessons learned.
  • Own the successful migration of the terminals to which you are assigned.
  • Spend considerable time onsite at terminal locations to integrate with the local leadership and resources.
  • Contribute all work to a global configuration asset repository to build a global library of assets that reduces work and risk across multiple projects.

We are looking for

  • 5+ years in the marine terminal technology industry with experience with TOS systems
  • Navis experience is an advantage
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of terminal operations processes with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience
  • Bachelor Degree Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with as many of the following as possible: Navis Express, Navis SPARCS, Navis SPARCS N4, Groovy, HP-UX, Red Hat Linux, Windows Server, Oracle, SQL Server, SOAP, JMS, Jasper, GoXML Transform Designer, XML.
  • Project management experience in the field of TOS systems with a minimum of 3 prior migrations or full implementations completed
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-discipline, high performance teams with diverse geographic locations, and cultural backgrounds
  • Well-organized, timely, and persistent possessing empathy, personal tact, cultural understanding and strong communication skills
  • Comfortable with a travel schedule of up to 75% and able to adapt quickly and deliver success under diverse working conditions
  • Able to lead a cross-functional team to project success in a multi-cultural environment
  • Demonstrated experience with as many of the following as possible: Groovy, HP-UX, Red Hat Linux, Windows Server, Oracle, SQL Server, SOAP, JMS, Jasper and XML a significant advantage.
