Why are we looking for you

NTS develops, produces, assembles and tests complex (opto-)mechatronic systems and mechanical modules for large, high-tech machine manufacturers (OEMs). As a first-tier systems supplier, we focus on companies active in markets with high levels of product diversity, low volumes and high complexity, such as the semiconductor, lifesciences and digital printing markets, in which precision, actuation in multiple degrees of freedom and cleanroom manufacturing are paramount.

What will you be doing

NTS has designed and built an advanced Residual Gas Analysis (RGA) setup, able to detect very low levels of residual materials and outgassing components. We have built this setup to advance with respect to the increasing cleanliness levels demands from our customers, and we will employ the setup to validate and improve the cleanliness of the manufacturing and assembly processes within NTS.

In order to make the RGA tool further operational there are several steps to be taken. Hence, the student project has the following objectives:

  • Determine the RGA fingerprint of several contaminants
  • Optimize the measurement protocol
  • Document the measurement protocol in an accessible way
  • Program the protocol into the LabView software of the RGA setup

Location

Because the RGA facilities are in Eindhoven, the execution location of this project is our D&E location in Eindhoven. Coaching and supervision is provided from this site.

Start of the project

The project will start in September-October 2020

What skill do you have

  • Required skill level is the end phase of a Bachelor program in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Laboratory sciences or comparable, at HBO or TU.
  • The project deliverables can be tailored towards the requirements of your institute/university.
  • Programming experience in LabView would be helpful.
  • You are pro-active, eager to learn and a self-starter.

The RGA tool is located in a cleanroom and therefore you should not have a physical condition that prohibit you from working in a cleanroom environment.

What do we offer

NTS offers the opportunity to work for a successful and dynamic business with a leading market position and an engaging project portfolio. Our organization has a characteristically informal and friendly atmosphere, and our staff looks out for each other. Drive, entrepreneurial spirit, a results-focused mindset and striving to be the best are what we aim for in everything that we make and do. Naturally, these are traits that we are also looking for in our new colleague.
