Your opportunity

As a Business Development Representative at Mollie, you will be part of our ambitious commercial team based in Amsterdam. You will act as a trusted advisor for highly successful entrepreneurs, founders, and e-commerce managers and support our team with scouting, reviewing and qualifying prospects.

You will take ownership of the incoming leads and act as an important link between our support and commercial department. Next to this, you will also get the chance to own your own pipeline from the first contact to the closing stage. You will work closely together with the Partnership and Business Development Managers which will enable you to quickly develop your skillset within the payments industry. Together you will negotiate and up-sell different payment products and will sign-on new merchants to our platform.

We will explain to you the ins and outs of the payment industry and you will have our support to grow into the Business Development Manager or Partnership manager in the future.

What you'll be doing

  • You are responsible for scouting, reviewing and qualifying new customers.
  • Follow up onboarding on a high level for all merchants and closely follow up onboarding for merchants bigger than 100k a year (learning opportunity).
  • Report and discuss performance through available dashboards
  • Close leads <€0.5m/year volume: send standard proposal and negotiate where needed
  • Route the largest leads >€0.5m/year volume to BDM
  • You will do so by building your own network, through events, fairs, online and strategies that you will create.

You’ll be able to grow into a Business Development-, Relationship- or Partner Manager role within the next few years.

What you'll bring:

  • You have 1-3 years of experience selling technical solutions to business customers.
  • Experience with payments, e-commerce or SaaS solutions is a plus.
  • You are a strong relationship builder, you are transparent, honest & understand a consultative sales approach.
  • You have a strong number- and target-focused approach.
  • You are fluent in Dutch & comfortable interacting in English.
