Your role as HR Business Partner

As our HR Business Partner for Danone Business Services Benelux, you will be responsible for Human Resources, Finance, General Secretary, and IS/IT. You have an essential role in aligning the HR strategy for all functions within Benelux Business Services. In this role, you will address business priorities in regards to people management, and guide business transformations towards a new organizational design.

While you will provide HR advice around talent, compensation and performance, you’ll also lead various HR projects. In the same working day, you will have a strategic discussion with your stakeholders in the functional leadership teams and help individual employees improve their performance. Although your scope is Business Services Benelux, you realize that you are part of a truly global organization, with numerous different stakeholders to manage.

To enable further success in the organization, you will work with the full employee cycle, develop and implement HR projects and policies in the following areas: talent and leadership development, OD, Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management and Employee Engagement. This is a role for someone who craves a daily challenge balanced by the desire to be accountable for delivering the best for Danone Business Services Benelux. It is a tactical position, with strategic and operational elements. Further you will be responsible for:

  • Partner/support on the delivery of the strategic people agenda within the Business Services Benelux functions. Drive or co-drive a number of selected transversal projects embraced within Benelux Business Services Annual Plan;
  • Deliver HR operational and strategical excellence for the 4 different functions (HR, Finance, GS, IS/IT) in DBS BENELUX;
  • Understand and influence stakeholders in order to develop a strong network within the 4 different DBS functions;
  • Drive culture and engagement initiatives for Business Services Benelux;
  • Identify Talent & Diversity needs (in anticipation) for the teams in scope;
  • Coach team leaders developing and managing their teams;
  • Lead and drive, with the guidelines provided by Business Services expertise areas, the yearly HR cycles: Reward (Annual Salary Reviews…), Talent (Talent Review…), Performance & Development cycles, Learning & Development, etc;
  • Lead all employee relations activities and processes. Assist and empower managers on individual employee relations' matters. Ensure the application of HR policies and guidelines;
  • Drive fundamentals and performance for HR Support, legal compliance and Danone policies;
  • Represent Business Services Benelux in the wider Benelux community to drive the broader HR agenda for the region working closely together with other HR BPs.

About You

As a seasoned , energetic and result driven HR Business Partner, you have a proven background in managing and excelling in HR activities. You are a business partner in the true sense of the word, working closely with the different stakeholders in a complex matrix environment. You can think and act ahead and connect naturally and easily gain energy out of building professional networks. Influencing different stakeholders at all levels comes naturally to you. As a networker, you are able to develop authentic relationships, through generous listening and straight talk in which you demonstrate empathy and respect. Furthermore you have:

  • A relevant Bachelor or Master degree;
  • At least 6 years relevant experience as an HR Business Partner/ HR Manager, preferably in NL (where the largest number of our employees are located);
  • Experience in the Benelux is preferred and highly relevant provided the legal specificities within each of the countries in the Benelux Region;
  • Knowledge of local laws, regulations and procedures governing labour relations;
  • Ability and flexibility to make decisions with 80% of the information, prioritize urgent vs important and challenge the status quo;
  • Excellent presentation skills to present to leadership teams on a broad set of processes and projects;
  • Flexibility in alternating your activities between the 4 different Business Services functions, which will require pragmatist skills;
  • Eager to stay abreast of the latest developments, best practices and trends in HR;
  • Flexibility to travel and work within Benelux to ensure proximity to the business (+/-25% on average, outside base country and/or in other locations);
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English are a must (written and spoken).
