Duration: 6 months. We prefer student able to run a 9 months assignment.

We are open to discuss support with your thesis subject, as long as it will be in line with our assignment described. We require an availability of 32-40 hours per week.

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Explore the possibility to generate synthetic clinical data for algorithm development and verification in computer vision research to improve technology and solutions in the area of health and well-being. You will use and extend your knowledge of computer vision, machine learning and image processing, etc.

You are responsible for

  • Finding the right tools and developing algorithms for generating synthetic data for computer vision algorithms using state of the art machine learning or deep learning techniques.
  • Applying the synthetic data to a clinical application to observe the performance of algorithms.
  • Evaluating the results with real clinical scenarios, and benchmarking the results.
  • Documenting the complete work and present it in clear presentations and graphs to colleagues and management.

You are a part of

The Remote Sensing department is a strong competency center in the area of remote sensing, in particular in camera-based technologies and applications. It was created by combining experts with application expertise, clinical knowledge, video processing and SW development competencies to enable the development of integrated contactless monitoring solutions for healthcare applications.

You will be working at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Currently studying toward your University of Sciences Master in Sciences degree in: Computer Science, Embedded Systems (Knowledge about Computer Vision is highly preferred)
  • Background & courses/university assignment in computer vision, image processing, and machine learning applications.
  • Proven programming skills (e.g. C++, Python, Keras, tensor flow, Pytorch, Caffe, Matlab, etc.).
  • Knowledge with 2D/3D camera hardware settings and software development kits to assess usability for computer vision applications is preferred.
  • Good writing and presentation skills in English.
