Job Purpose/Overview

Responsible for developing the strategic plans that will drive the Vet portfolio growth & profitability in the Benelux whilst increasing reach and engagement through meaningful and high impact marketing initiatives.

Manage, develop and engage, through excellent leadership a high performance marketing team, so individual and team objectives are met and associates can grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing activation strategies for the Vet pillar that achieve Royal Canin Benelux short term and long-term objectives aligned with our OGSM 2025
  • Lead VET Benelux Marketing team to achieve sustainable and profitable growth of the Royal Canin VET portfolio through effective strategy and recommendation building initiatives. Owns or shares responsibilities in volume, (base) Rate of Sales (ROS, )profit, market share and overall portfolio healthiness
  • Develop the Category & Segment Strategy including Range management, connecting category & portfolio strategies to key business strategy processes through cross functional teams and recommend an integrated business operational plan.
  • Develop the Portfolio Strategy, Lead implementation on cluster level of portfolio in line with global and regional OGSM, ensuring outstanding implementation. Build consumer & customer relevance via activations at multiple reach points. Lead local pillar and portfolio reviews to feed into S&OP reviews. Supervise delivery of Marketing activity calendar
  • Effectively allocate the A&P budget and resources to ensure effective ROI according to global principles
  • Establish “fit-for-purpose” consumer insights capabilities and practices to achieve market, competitive intelligence etc. Provide supervision on overall agency management, database and information analysis
  • Develop team & build the talent pipeline by developing your direct reports and ensure engagement of the marketing team and ensure a robust talent pipeline through associate development & succession planning.in Royal Canin
  • Collaborate and influence regional or global teams to ensure our Benelux’ needs are being heard

Context and Scope

The priority of this role is to effectively develop, implement and continuously improve the company’s marketing strategy to build Royal Canin’s brand overall to strengthen the performance of each of Royal Canin’s portfolio’s.

A significant proportion of the time in this role will be spent on developing and coaching the team.

Relevant Quantitative and Budget Information

• The dimension of the job is Royal Canin in the Benelux, requiring regular presence at Zaventem office

• The jobholder is responsible for the marketing strategy of the VET pillar in the Benelux.

• Management of a team of 5 direct reports (trade marketing, portfolio activation management and marketing support)

Job Specifications/Qualifications

1. Education & Professional Qualification

  • Higher (university) degree, preferably in Marketing or Communication.
  • IT literate
  • Fluency in Dutch, English and preferably French

2. Knowledge/Experience

  • 5+ years people management experience. Proven track record in development and engagement of associates and a team.
  • 5+ years’ experience in portfolio activation, category and/or customer marketing in a multinational environment.
