PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION:

  • The Horizontal Concepts Snr. Manager role, within the ‘Brand Management: Sports Marketing’ organization, acts in either a support or lead sports marketing role on various projects and across internal and external relationship.
  • The role delivers support in a variety of forms, varying from the creation of Tools & Services developed to benefit the Sports Marketing community, to general Sports Marketing portfolio management.
  • This specific Snr Manager role is is responsible for the horizontal support and management of the sports marketing component of select horizontal categories and concepts. As the sports marketing discipline owner this role delivers guidance and portfolio management support towards the defined objectives of the specific topics.
  • They also play a fundamental role in ensuring a ROI on the global Sports Marketing portfolio, through leveraging the opportunities created by the listed Horizontal Concepts and activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead & Connect– in your role by driving seamless collaboration with-and-between all key global and local sports marketing stakeholder within the scope of this role and or the project.
  • Develop, Coordinate & Manage – the global Sports Marketing asset strategy and if necessary, the portfolio, for the concepts, projects and briefs managed by this role.
  • Define R&R – for the overall Sports Marketing support as related to each independent area of ownership, to deliver on both category, concepts, discipline and brand objectives where relevant.
  • Ensure Communication – of the project/concept objectives are clarified, agreed-upon, communicated and monitored; key milestones are defined/met; asset management process is defined and coordinated at all levels with regards to sports marketing activation or integration opportunities.
  • Prioritization - Ensure all activities under this role’s ownership are always driven towards support the strategic priorities of Sports Marketing and adidas as a Brand.
  • Agency & Partner Management – act as senior contact lead and/or co-lead interface for agency and external contacts related to projects under this roles ownership.
  • KPI Development - Regularly establish points of reference upon which we can measure our project success with regards to our internal and external stakeholders. Mange and steer the topic of KPI development and deliverables within the project/service/tool scope.
  • Budget Ownership - Coordinate and manage the budget related to all projects within the roles’ scope.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Senior profile combining strong project management and organization skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
  • English fluent (written and oral) and good command of a Second language (German, Spanish or Mandarin)
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Very good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independent
  • Drive and passion to deliver against and exceed expectations
  • Knowledge of various respective Sports Marketing category
  • IT-skills: Mac Programs, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Sports Marketing and/or Marketing background (event, sports marketing or brand marketing) with proven experience in project management
  • University degree preferably in Marketing & Business Administration or Sport-Management
  • 5 years’ work experience, preferably with experience in marketing activation
  • People management experience a plus
