The Lloyd’s Register Group provides independent assurance to companies operating high-risk, capital-intensive assets in the Marine, Energy and Transportation sectors. It works to enhance the safety of life, property and the environment by helping its clients to ensure the quality construction and operation of critical infrastructure.

This challenging role requires a suitably qualified and experienced Marine Surveyor. Reporting to the Surveyor in charge, it is intended that the successful candidate will continue to service, develop and grow the marine business in The Netherlands. This position will allow a positive balance of office management, technical application and business development. Opportunities will be given to manage specific projects, thus enabling the candidate to experience the whole spectrum of project development, delivery and reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

In extension of our Business Stream Marine, we are looking for:

Technical Assistant Marine

(Equipment Directive/Mutual Recognition of Parts)

To provide a range of technical and administrative support against defined procedures with some discretion over priorities of workload, including assisting in the resolution of work related queries as directed by Line Manager.

  • Prioritise and process documentation/data/information in accordance with local business requirements and agreed deadlines.
  • Data filing / entry in accordance with defined procedures.
  • Deal with queries and build relationships with internal / external clients, as appropriate.
  • To coach other team members, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.

Job requirements:

  • intermediate vocational education in Marine engineering or similar;
  • Basic knowledge of the international Marine legislation;
  • Basic knowledge of the legislation regarding protection the environment;
  • Several years of experience in the maritime industry (sailing or non-sailing);
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and preferably in English at all levels;
  • The ability to work independently as well as in a team.
