Who we're looking for

Schroders' traineeship programme is your chance to gain a year of hands-on, paid work experience. If you've just finished your A-levels or your BTECs then this programme provides you with a chance to explore the world of work. We also accept applications from graduates.

Although you may have never heard of Schroders before visiting our website, this traineeship could be for you because key to the purpose of the programme is to teach you about what, why and how we do what we do.

On this programme, you'll be part of our Content, Events and External Communications Team within our Product business or our Marketing Team within the Wealth Management part of our business.

As a trainee, you will receive ongoing training designed to develop throughout the year, where you will have the chance to improve your skills as well as your technical knowledge. We support you to take the Investment Foundation Certificate, which is a professional industry qualification and you'll be paid competitively above the London living wage.

The team(s)

Internal Communications and Content Team

The Internal Communications team make sure that our people globally understand our strategic priorities, what's going on at Schroders and how it affects them. The team advise on communications planning, from audience segmentation to advising on the most appropriate channels and content for communication. The team are responsible for managing the “Inside Schroders” brand which aims to engage, inform, educate and inspire our people through videos, news, emails, digital screens, intranet, magazines and company-wide events.

What you'll do (Internal Communications and Content)

As a trainee, you'll take on the day-to-day tasks of the team, supporting the wider team to focus on strategic communications and delivering a number of change projects across our busy business.

Some of the tasks and projects you'll be involved in are:

Events Team

The Events team manages around 160 client-facing events a year in the UK and overseas such as conferences, residential offsite events, roadshows, dinners and exhibitions. This includes events for the main business areas, for corporate level / senior management stakeholders and also supporting other organisations (ie. charities) by hosting their events using our building facilities and teams.

The Marketing and Business Development Team

The Wealth Management business of Schroders provides investment management, wealth planning and banking services to a variety of clients: private clients (high net worth and ultra-high net worth), family offices, charity clients and financial advisers. This is a diverse role involved in a wide range of marketing and business development activities to support the wealth management business. The job holder will be expected to build relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers, ensuring that all output is delivered to a high standard, in line with the company brand and compliant.
