Role profile

Our research teams play a vital role by applying technical skills and knowledge to solve the future challenges facing BT. As a research graduate, you’ll leverage partnerships with universities and other companies to conduct unique technical research in business critical areas which can be used by the rest of BT to provide fantastic solutions for our customers. In your role you’ll be working as a technology consultant to provide strategic direction on key topics that help BT make the right investment decisions and propose options for the future.

You’ll develop your expertise in one of a number of technology areas, including optics, quantum technologies, novel computing architectures, video networking, multimedia applications, software engineering, networking technologies, data science or cyber security. You’ll explore the many exciting ways in which we can use technology to meet the needs of our global customers now and in the future. This could be how to increase broadband speeds, how to improve the experience for our BT TV customers, how to find faults on our network before they occur, or how to keep BT and our customers safe from cyber attacks. You’ll develop world-class problem solving and analytical skills, eventually becoming an expert in your field and acting as a consultant to other parts of BT.

We’ll provide you with all the training you need to develop a successful career, including the opportunity to gain further qualifications, such as an MSc or PhD, and professional accreditation.
