As a Demand & Supply planner you are part of the Supply Chain team in the Netherlands. Together with five other Demand & Supply Planners, you are responsible for the success of your own brands. You work closely with other teams (in particular Sales, Category Management, Finance and Marketing) and stakeholders in order to be a business partner in the Dutch affiliate and for Supply Planning for the Benelux organization. You are responsible for building a Supply Chain strategy with our customers. Within the Supply Chain team you are responsible for what happens in your own category, this involves getting the most realistic forecast in APO, a good Service Level and optimum stock levels. Furthermore, you are the contact person between the local business and the international Beiersdorf production network. You maintain a bottom up plan on a rolling 18 month forecast, including dealing correctly with New Product launches, hard and soft re-launches and promos in the market.

Main responsibilities

Forecasting

· You work with APO to build a bottom-up, unbiased and accurate sales forecast through the use of appropriate forecasting methods for each brand / product. Therefore, you have a clear understanding on what is going on in own brand/customer.

· You have an “helicopter view” of the business (e.g. what is happening in-store, such as promotions, media activity etc.), which is reflected in APO to be of later use in the monthly S&OP cycle.

· You take the lead in the S&OP process for your customers.

· You align full year on plans with Sales and are able to challenge and defend your own numbers.

Service Level & Stock Management

· You correctly manage stocks with the right use of safety stocks (use of the statistical and manual models) to guarantee Service Level and achieving the stock coverage targets.

· You keep excess and obsolete stock to a minimum and focus on reducing scrapping.

· You works on own brand assortment to minimize complexity.

Communication / Relationship building

· You build a good working relationship with all counterparts in the business, with special focus on Sales, Marketing, Local Supply Chain and Production Centers.

· As a Demand & Supply planner you are involved in contact with customer. Thus, you have to keep the business fully informed of all relevant supply topics and be a champion for delivering agreed levels of product availability.

· You play an active role in a number of meetings where you will represent the department individually.

· You work closely with the production centers and are pro-active about demand changes and any other problems that may arise.

Process improvement

· As a Demand & Supply planner you identify new ways of working with regards to processes and systems, which enables the Planning team to deliver a more efficient and higher quality service.

Reporting

· You complete and present any reporting requirements (e.g. monthly KPI reviews, SL reports etc.), either locally or regionally, in an accurate and timely manner.

· You focus on key selected KPI’s – Service Level, Forecast Accuracy, Bias, Stock Coverage, Critical stocks and Scrapping.

Job requirements

  • Academic degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • 0-4 years working experience, FMCG experience is preferred
  • You have gained experience in a commercial or a Demand & Supply Planning environment
  • Analytical
  • Can build and develop effective internal and external partnerships
  • Able to be pro-active in addressing issues / problems
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to express ideas effectively and actively listen to others
  • Able to challenge current work practices to improve performance
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
