What you can expect from the role:

  • As a Review Operations Specialist, you will manage a portfolio of journals or journal sections with responsibility for ensuring a timely and thorough review process for all submitted manuscripts.
  • You will respond to all queries relating to the review process from editors, reviewers, authors and colleagues in other departments.
  • You will carry out quality control checks to ensure rigorous peer review with no conflicts of interest.
  • You will liaise with authors, reviewers and editors to improve processes and ensure that manuscripts move smoothly through the peer review process.
  • You will analyse and provide proactive recommendations for developments and improvements of our peer review platform.
  • You will work in a fun and vibrant environment with an enthusiastic and friendly team.

Requirements

Who you are:

  • You have a positive, professional attitude, the ability to quickly and accurately manage large volumes of information and to prioritize and react effectively to urgent situations.
  • You are target- and customer-oriented with a pro-active and resilient personality.
  • You are an excellent communicator, with interpersonal skills and a professional and courteous telephone manner.
  • You have at least a BSc/BA degree, with a background in Pharmacology preferred
  • Prior experience in scholarly publishing is not essential, but is a plus.
