Job Mission

Within ASML the Release Train Engineer (RTE) is the recognized Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) expert and competence owner, who orchestrates the agile teams through the ceremonies in an Agile Release Train. The RTE together with the Chief Product Owner ensures great performance of the train and provides full transparency on what is going on in the ART. The RTE has regular communication to teams & stakeholders and ensure stakeholders are being managed and teams stay engaged.

Job Description

The Release Train Engineer is essential in delivering our deliverables in time, with great quality for our customers. You'll be responsible for organizing the Agile release train ceremonies; making sure that the agreed upon deliverables are delivered. You'll reach this target by; optimizing the flow of the process, ensuring optimal guidance and excellence for the multi-functional teams by coaching and developing Scrum Masters. Furthermore, protecting fast delivery by removing impediments and dependencies, safeguarding delivery excellence by keeping the Agile release train stable and shielding it from external interferences. Moreover, providing analyses of current processes, evaluating bottlenecks and advising in regards to improvements in processes and procedures.

You'll be working very closely with multiple internal and demanding stakeholders like architects, product owners, software managers, project managers and of course your team of Scrum masters and the teams they facilitate.

The Release Train Engineer is responsible to ensure that existing Agile release train runs in the most optimal way for fast and high quality value delivery. Some of the challenges you'll face in this role are: ensuring that the Agile release train improves itself, protecting that the agile release train stays on track with deliverables by managing escalations and changing priorities, making sure the stakeholders are managed, ensuring teams stay engaged and managing the cadence and facilitate rituals.

Education

At least a Msc. degree in: Computer Sciences, Physics, or Mathematics and a background in or experience with software development in a technical environment.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience as an RTE
  • Background in software development in a complex technical (production) environment

Context of the position

The Metrology Expose EUV department in D&E is responsible for the Functional & Software specification and design of the wafer expose sequence of ASML’s EUV wafer scanners, as well as the models and calibrations which are required for optimal image positioning and image quality. The amount of FTE in your scope as Release Train Engineer will be across 10+ teams and over 130 FTE.
