Requirements & Qualifications

You will need to be in your penultimate year at university studying towards at least a 2:1 in any degree discipline and due to graduate in September 2021, as well as achieved at least 104 UCAS points (260 UCAS points pre-2017) for you’re a levels (or equivalent), and at least a grade 4 (C) in English language and at least a grade 6 (B) in Maths in your GCSEs (or equivalent).

  • Business Tax: It’s our job to help our clients identify and design technology solutions that help them overcome forthcoming challenges. From day one, you’ll work closely with clients – big and small - across all industries, on every aspect of their corporate tax whether it be within Tax Management Consulting Technology or Financial Services. Our Global Innovation & Investment Incentives area help our clients match their investment, research, development and innovation plans with current and future incentive opportunities. We also deliver large-scale, international projects, as the tax experts in a multidisciplinary team. There’s plenty of exciting opportunities to combine tax with your passion for technology
  • Indirect Tax: As an Indirect Tax professional, you’ll get to know all aspects of your client’s business and advise them on business-critical events. Much of this is rooted in law. Which means a big part of your job will be researching legislation and case law and relating it to clients, so you can find effective solutions for them. You could really help clients navigate the uncertainties in-between their tax systems and technology working within our Compliance & Technology area. Wherever you specialise, you’ll become an expert in customs, global trade, VAT and other indirect taxes that affect businesses, minimising the costs for clients, whenever, wherever and however they do business.
  • Ventures: As a Ventures professional, you’ll identify and solve the most complex client problems in areas which are unknown and unimaginable to tax today realizing revenue growth opportunities and transforming the way Deloitte Tax shows up in the market. The Ventures teamwork with Tax clients on the future of their businesses and tech start-ups and technology partners with whom we have alliances. They also work with Transformation and Digital Tax Solutions to deliver ideas and concepts to the market and internal business team. You’ll work closely with clients - big and small - across all industries, and a community of practice across all our service lines in Deloitte. Your professional experience

In Tax Consulting you’ll get to work with and learn from some of the most talented and experienced professionals in the industry. You’ll be learning every day, from new tax legislation to technical skills, being proactive and adapting quickly to different types of work. You’ll have the opportunity to work with FTSE 100 organisations, start-ups and private individuals, helping them solve some of the most complex technological issues their business is ever likely to face.

You will attend The Tax Analyst Academy in your first two weeks at Deloitte. During this time, you will get the opportunity to meet your peers and learn the soft skills and technical skills to operate as a tax professional from day one in the office.

You will then participate in the Tax Analyst Development two year programme designed to prepare you for promotion to Consultant. The programme comprises of on the job learning, core training, and study for professional qualification training.
