An opportunity has arisen for a Summer Internship within BAE Systems Engineering department to carry out a range of engineering based activities in a dynamic environment. This role will be based out of our site in Rochester.

We support a range of commercial and military platforms, including fixed and rotary wing aircraft, ground vehicles, human-machine interfaces and power management. What you will be doing… (Role Duties and Responsibilities)

As a Summer Intern within Electronic Hardware engineering your main activities will involve:

  • Executing electronic hardware design tasks in accordance with the hardware development plan, whilst meeting agreed timescales.
  • Conducting hardware requirements capture, preliminary design, detailed design including a range of analysis tasks.
  • Conducting hardware requirements definition and hardware design architecture options evaluation
  • As a Summer Intern within Electronic Hardware engineering your skills will ideally include:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work well in collaboration with others
  • Present to a broad range of engineering stakeholders
  • Understand the multiple phases of the engineering lifecycle

Entry Requirements and what we are looking for

To apply, you’ll need to be on course for achieving a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree. Accepted degrees: Electronics, Electronics in combination with Electrical or Computing or Physics, Computer Systems Engineering. The Preferred Degree Subjects are: Analogue design, (Advanced) Digital Design, FPGA Design.

Your Degree must contain aspects of most of the following: analogue design, digital design, fields and Waves, digital communication, Processing and applications, engineering maths, computing, FPGA design.
