Amsterdam is Credit Europe Bank’s global headquarters and is the center from where Trade and Commodity Finance, Project Finance, Marine Finance and Banking Relations are offered to customers all over the world. Next to our HQ in the Netherlands, we have offices in Germany, Malta, Switzerland, UAE, the Ukraine, Romania and Turkey. In order to be a people driven bank, the Managing Board of Credit Europe Bank has identified the need to build up a strong HR function to ensure that we maintain an engaged and high performing workforce.
What’s the team like
There are six of us in the team. Three of us are engaged in topics such as payroll, compensation & benefits, immigration services and health & safety. And the other three are advising the business on organizational development, recruitment, performance management, engagement, change management and learning & development. All the same when it comes to our ambition and drive to offer a great HR service delivery, yet all different when it comes to our backgrounds and personalities.
What’s the internship like
In general the internship would be split in 60% participating in regular HR activities and 40% leading your own HR project in collaboration with other HR colleagues.
=> 60% HR activities: A workday in HR is never a routine job but just to give you an impression about HR activities: your day could start with screening resumes of candidates, scheduling interviews at the office, preparing employment contracts, and in the meantime answering incoming questions from applicants and external parties such as recruitment agencies. You could be supporting the HR Administration desk which allows you to understand what it takes to onboard new employees, especially from abroad. In addition, you may be asked to support us with rolling out an engagement survey or assist in optimizing our Performance Management cycle and system.
=> 40% HR projects: We have defined several HR projects where you could take the lead and work together with other colleagues. You would be involved in an analysis of our existing HR policy framework and could furthermore be responsible for sub projects in the areas of Onboarding, Learning & Development, Performance Management and Leadership.
