Electrical Engineering at KBR

At KBR in the UK, the Energy Solutions Electrical Group currently has over 70 professionals working on onshore and offshore projects in hydrocarbons, LNG, refining and energy with an increasing focus on provision of sustainable electrical power to the installations we design for our Clients. The Electrical group includes apprentices and graduates through to principal engineers and designers all with varying experiences and backgrounds. The projects range from 1MW through to 500MW at voltages from 230V ac to 380kV ac depending on the type of installation.

About the Scheme

By joining the Electrical Engineering graduate scheme at KBR you will be provided with the necessary tools needed to further yourself as an electrical engineer and become a key member of our team. The scheme/programme is IET accredited and our established mentor system will help support and advise you on your journey towards chartership. The 4 year scheme offers rotation in various different roles and different projects as well as opportunities to work across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Also having access to graduate committees such as the KBR IMPACT global network which promotes professional and social activities within the organisation.

What you will do

  • You will be based at our office in Leatherhead, Surrey and become part of our electrical team, this will involve working on and contributing to different projects in various stages.
  • Helping design electrical systems at various stages of projects from concept definition right through to detailed design and supporting construction and commissioning phases.
  • Different rotations will allow you to develop your skills and provide you with a wide range experience and could provide you with the opportunity to work abroad at one of our other offices in locations like Baku and Chennai.
  • Site based rotations available to further enhance knowledge, skills and experience.
