About Metabolic Foundation
Metabolic Foundation was started in 2013 to enable local communities to be self-sufficient for their own resources and economic empowerment. We prototype new technologies, showcase promising solutions, educate community entrepreneurs, initiate community fablabs, and create digital resources like tools and guides that lower the threshold for taking action that can jump-start bottom-up prosperity and resilience.
About the Internship
For the 2018-19 school year, Mo-B Lab–a mobile maker lab–will offer after-school activities with 18 schools in Aruba for a period of two weeks each, engaging up to 1400 kids and young adults aged between 4-24.
Metabolic Foundation is taking a new approach to technical education, testing different concepts at different schools and using similar material that is then adapted to the group.
As an intern, you would be supporting in teaching, facilitation, improving lesson plans, and publishing methods that work. You will also assist with educational activities, including 3D modeling, coding, and electronics
The internship starts in the Spring Semester: Ideally March 2019 but can be flexible. The internship is paid and can be a part-time or full-time engagement.
Requirements
Metabolic’s mission is to transition the global economy to a fundamentally sustainable State. We advise governments, businesses, and NGOs on how to adapt to a fast-changing global context. Combining systems thinking and data science, we map and understand local and global systems to assess where to intervene and develop solutions that can dramatically shift how the economy functions.
