What are you going to do?
In your assignment, you will investigate the role of water hardness on the product performance in dishwash and laundry applications. The markets of machine dishwash and laundry detergent products are moving towards a greener and more sustainable products. New innovative biobased ingredients play an important role in new product development. The functionality of these biobased raw materials can be influenced by different factors (eg.water hardness). The goal of this thesis is to reduce these effects to optimize formulation performance using biobased ingredients. The first part of the program will focus on the execution of a design of experiments to characterize the function of different sequestering molecules in relation to water hardness. The second part of the program is focusing on the translation of these result into real homecare products by making formulations (lab scale) and executing application testing with these formulations]
The ultimate goal of your assignment is to characterize differences between sequestering molecules and to use this result to develop/ improve the performance of homecare formulations.
Who are you
You are a 3rd-year university of applied sciences (HBO) or 4th-year MBO student, with an affinity for and proven experience with lab-scale application/ product development. You are studying chemical engineering or related, or similar. You are available for an internship, for the duration of 20 weeks.
