Introduction
If you have the strength of personality to take ownership of a problem and create a vision of how to solve it - a vision that also inspires others - then the ASML Focus Performance department is your ideal environment for personal development and professional growth.
Job Mission
As an Focus Engineer you will be a key player in making the performance of our scanners meet our customer’s demands. You will be responsible for predicting focus performance of our future scanners or enhancement products, and assess, troubleshoot and optimize focus performance of our high-end tools.
Job Description
Our customers are making computer chips and our lithography systems enable this by imaging the customer products on their wafers. Key performance parameters to achieve this are the absolute focus of the system, the focus depth and the focus stability.
You will be technically challenged to understand the complex system, all the dependencies and define new focus solutions to improve the system. You will be responsible to design, create, test and integrate complex focus solutions within the boundaries defined by the system specifications, budgeted costs and planning.
Next to the technically challenges, you will need to use your leadership and teamwork skills to solve problems and optimize focus system performance at the integration phase. You will cooperate with colleagues within your own focus competence group, with colleagues delivering system modules that can impact focus, as well as with representatives from the factory and field.
Your personal talents will be urgently required during the system integration phase, as deviations in expected system performance levels emerge in this phase, after the separate functional modules have been designed, developed and delivered. You will need to combine your creative problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking to develop innovative solutions to resolve disturbances quickly and if needed to come up with mitigation solutions to ensure program continuation.
