Job Purpose

TMF Group is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel with great business acumen and a passion for commercial negotiation. So, if you like to support and to work closely together with our Sales & Business Teams to close commercial deals, this is your job!

As Legal Counsel, you will join the Client Contracting Team (CCTeam), which sits within the Global Solutions division of TMF Group.

Key responsibilities

  • Drafting and negotiating complex, international (multi-country) commercial contracts related to all TMF’s business services, including NDA’s and other relevant commercial agreements;
  • Supporting various services lines and sales groups by providing legal advice and business consultancy.

The CCTeam is growing and currently consists of 2 Legal Counsels, Global Head of CCTeam (based in Amsterdam), to whom you will report.

Next to the responsibilities of the CCTeam, your key responsibilities will be

  • Negotiating, reviewing and drafting commercial agreements;
  • Providing legal advice and business support in relation to existing contracts including disputes, termination, debt collection, change requests, etc.;
  • Supporting the Global Head of CCTeam in setting up and contributing to the goals of the CCTeam;
  • Liaising and working with various internal stakeholders of different disciplines within TMF Group with respect to the responsibilities of the CCTeam;
  • Assisting in developing internal legal & contracting processes, general T&Cs, contract templates and training materials in close cooperation with other CCTeam members

Your Profile

  • A master degree in law (either from The Netherlands, U.K., U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand or South Africa);
  • Minimum of 3+ years of work experience, preferably as in-house Legal Counsel of a commercial company;
  • Experience with international commercial contracts (strong drafting, reviewing, negotiating skills);
  • Great business acumen (quick understanding of business cases & needs; pragmatic approach to assist in translating this into relevant contract provisions);
  • Excellent English – written & oral – communication skills; second language is an asset;
  • Talent in organizing, prioritizing & managing stakeholders and deadlines in high demanding work environment with cultural differences;
  • Ability to develop, channel and maintain strong, effective working relationships with demanding internal and external clients.
