The Corporate M&A department reports directly into the CFO and Executive Board of Wolters Kluwer N.V. and is responsible for managing all transaction related activities acrossall divisions, also including divestments. Responsibility starts with identification of opportunities and continues up to closing of the transaction. The SVP Mergers and Acquisitions EMEA is looking for a Director Corporate M&A to support in overall deal execution. The team is small and operates with substantial international dealflow in a consolidating industry.

The role

The Director M&A is expected to be able to lead all aspects of a transaction with very limited oversight. You will be managing various types of external advisors, leading due diligence investigations, writing and presenting at boardroom level and negotiating contracts. In this international position there will be travelling involved on a regular basis (approx.. 25-50% of time).

The combination of Executive Board exposure, strong deal flow, the international working environment, small team and support of a top-notch advisor network, offers a unique development opportunity for any M&A professional.

Your profile

  • Excellent academic background (a Bachelor and/or Master degree is a must);
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in corporate M&A, private Equity, investment banking or corporate finance advisory;
  • Strong financial analytical skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to act on board level;
  • Dutch languages skills are preferred. Commercial sense with a sharp personality and street-wise attitude;
  • Self starting individual who is committed, determined and result oriented;
  • Willing to travel internationally and work irregular hours.

Additional desired experience:

  • Experience working within a multinational or global business, havingworked successfully in variousenvironments/cultures
  • Familiarity with the software / media / professional publishing industry
